Walls of Dubrovnik

The Walls of Dubrovnik  or Dubrovačke gradske zidine are the great walls surrounding Dubrovnik . The intact walls in from the 12th–17th centuries and is approx 1,940 metres long

They have been considered to be amongst the great fortification systems of the Middle Ages, as they were never breached by a hostile army during this time period. In 1979, the old city of Dubrovnik, which includes a substantial portion of the old walls of Dubrovnik, joined the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.*

But most off all they are just damn awesome and an amazing walk. Don’t miss it!

In the summer in can we a bit crowded, but if you come outside season, you can almost have them for yourself. This was the cases when we walked them in the first of January.
